Test your agent

Test every change before real callers hear it. There are two ways: a Web Call in your browser, and a Phone Call where the agent rings a phone you hold.

You will need: a saved voice agent. For a Phone Call, the agent also needs a number (see Write your agent, the Phone Number section).

On a saved voice agent, open Call. It shows two buttons: Web Call and Phone Call.

Press Web Call. Fill in Participant Name and Phone Number (your own are fine; nothing is dialled), then press Start Call. Allow the browser to use your microphone and talk to the agent like a caller would.

Press Phone Call. Fill in Participant Name and the Phone Number to ring (your own mobile). If the agent has custom variables, a box shows for each one, so you can test with real values such as an order number. Press Start Phone Call and answer your phone.

Every test call shows in Call history with the recording, a summary and the transcript. Change what sounded wrong on the agent, press Save, and call again.

I cannot see the Call section

It only shows on a voice agent that has been saved. Press Save first. Chat agents are tested in the widget preview instead (see Chat widget).

The Phone Call button is greyed out

Hover over it: it says “No phone number assigned to this agent”. Pick a number in the agent’s Phone Number section, save, and try again.

Start Call shows "Enter a valid phone number" or "Name is required"

Participant Name needs at least 3 characters and Phone Number must be a full number with the country code.

The call connects but the agent says nothing

Check your balance under Billing. When credits run out, the agent cannot speak. Top up, then call again. If you have credits and it is still silent, message us.

The agent cannot hear me on a web call

The browser is not allowed to use your microphone. Allow it from the browser’s address bar, then start the call again.
