Connect your AI
If you work with an AI assistant, you can connect it to Foan and ask it in plain English: “How did the September outreach campaign do?” or “Make a copy of the Front desk agent with a new greeting.” It signs in through Foan and gets its own key, with only the permissions you approve.
You will need: to be an owner or admin of your organisation, and an AI assistant that supports remote MCP servers (most do).
1. Open Connect your AI and copy the Server URL
Section titled “1. Open Connect your AI and copy the Server URL”Open Developers > Connect your AI. Under Add Foan to your AI, copy the Server URL:
https://api.foan.ai/mcp2. Add Foan to your assistant
Section titled “2. Add Foan to your assistant”The page has a tab for each assistant: Claude Code, Codex, VS Code, claude.ai and Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Hermes and Other hosts. Pick yours and follow its steps. For example:
Claude Code, in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user foan https://api.foan.ai/mcpThen inside Claude Code run /mcp, pick foan and choose Authenticate.
Codex, in your terminal:
codex mcp add foan --url https://api.foan.ai/mcpcodex mcp login foanclaude.ai and Claude Desktop: open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the Server URL, leave the client id and secret empty, and press Connect.
Any other assistant: add the Server URL as a remote (HTTP) MCP server. Any MCP client that supports sign-in this way works.
3. Sign in and approve
Section titled “3. Sign in and approve”Your browser opens. Sign in to Foan, pick the organisation if you belong to more than one, and approve what the assistant may do. There is no key to copy.
The assistant now shows under Connected on the Connect your AI page, and its key shows under API keys.
4. Ask it something
Section titled “4. Ask it something”What your AI can do lists what it covers: agents and chat widgets, campaigns and follow ups, calls and transcripts, numbers, number verification, knowledge base, and plans and billing. Try a question from the examples on that page.
Anything that spends credits or is hard to undo is shown to you first and waits for your confirmation.
Common failures
Section titled “Common failures”A teammate cannot connect their assistant
Only owners and admins of the organisation can connect. Each person signs in with their own Foan login and gets their own key. See Invite your team to change a role.
I want to cut off an assistant's access
Press Disconnect this AI on its row under Connected, or revoke its key under API Keys. It loses access straight away. To use it again, connect it again and sign in.
My script or server has no browser to sign in with
Use an API key instead and send it as a bearer token.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- API keys: see and revoke every key, including your assistant’s.
- Pull calls into your own reports: get call data out for your own dashboards.
- API reference: everything the assistant can reach.
