How Foan works

Foan gives your business AI agents that hold real conversations: on the phone and in a chat window on your website. This page explains the pieces, so the rest of the docs make sense.

Your organisation is your company on Foan. Everything else belongs to it: your team, your agents, your numbers, every call and chat, and your credits. If you belong to more than one organisation, you switch between them at the top of the sidebar.

An agent is the one who talks. There are two kinds, and you pick the kind when you create it:

  • Voice Agent: answers and makes phone calls, and can take calls in the browser.
  • Chat Agent: chats with visitors in a widget on your website.

You write each agent in plain English: who it is, how it sounds and what job it does on every conversation. You can also give it tools (so it can check or book things in your own systems), knowledge (your documents) and a product catalogue.

A number is a phone number your voice agents answer and call from. You buy one under Numbers, then choose which agent answers it under Inbound.

Every conversation is saved. Under History you find each call with its recording, a summary and the transcript, and each chat in full.

  • Inbound calls come in on your number and your agent picks up.
  • Outbound calls go out from a campaign (a list of people your agent calls inside your hours) or one at a time.

Results shows what an agent achieved on its calls: how many calls, and how many ended with each result you care about, such as a booking.

Calls and chats are paid for from your balance of credits. You see what is left as Wallet at the bottom of the sidebar, and you manage plans and top ups under Billing.
